Good Samaritan Hospital’s PACS is images instantly
available for review on select computers throughout the enterprise.
The PACS application is interfaced to GSCH’s Meditech application to
enable a “one-stop” review point to help a clinician make their
decisions with all the clinical data at their fingertips. There is no longer a need to wait for the films to be retrieved by a film clerk or wait for another physician to return the “borrowed” films. Clinicians are able to review radiology images and reports at their office on home through a high-speed internet connection (DSL, Cable, T1). Images can be magnified, rotated or enhanced via the PACS application. The system will allow for the creation of a Compact Disc (CD) which includes all the images as well as an embedded viewer application. This will allow our physicians and patients to have a portable copy of the study that can be accessed on any computer with no additional software needed. All of these features are designed to provide our physicians to provide more efficient and accurate care to our patients.
